Preparing for 2016 En Primeur Week in Bordeaux
The big week is coming up! Thanks to all of your votes, I’m going to the 2016 Bordeaux En Primeur Week as a guest of Millesima, along with 5 other talented bloggers from the US and Europe. Of course, before any trip, you prepare. I thought I would share my training regimen with you! Over the last several weeks, I’ve been virtually touring the area, familiarizing myself with the differences between wines in different communities in Bordeaux.
Millesima posted an introduction to the week here. Starting on April 1, follow along! I’ll be posting on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Look for #MillesimaBA2017

Pre-trip preparation is key!
Bordeaux does make a bit of white wine. Sauternes is a highly esteemed dessert wine
Bordeaux red wines are blends of multiple grapes. Wines from the Left Bank usually have Cabernet Sauvignon as the largest percentage in the blend
Right Bank wines typically feature Merlot as the major component in the blend
Not all Bordeaux wines are expensive. Less famous villages make some very nice, very affordable wines
Not just wine drinking, there’s plenty of pre-work to do!
