Chianti on a Weeknight

Open a nice bottle of wine with your spaghetti from a jar? Yes!
Everyday Meals Deserve a Nice Bottle of Wine
Your everyday meals deserve a nice bottle of wine! Looking at my blog posts, you might believe every meal is from scratch – not so! On busy weeknights, we take lots of shortcuts. Tacos from a kit? Yep. Spaghetti sauce from a jar? You betcha! We do try to add fresh veggies when time permits. Skimp on the wine? Never. It needn’t be something expensive, just a nice bottle to enjoy over dinner. Also, we rarely finish a bottle in one night. Nothing wrong with recorking and sticking it in the frig to be enjoyed on night #2.

Eye: Clear, pale ruby red
Nose: Clean, medium intensity classic sour cherries backed up with some fresh herbs and a touch of leather in the background.
Mouth: Bone dry, medium+ acidity, medium tannins. Bright sour cherry flavor with very lively character and a nice medium+ length finish.

Sauce from a jar, fresh pasta, all from Broder’s. Makes quick work of dinner
Spaghetti Tuesday
I stopped at Broder’s Cucina, our local Italian Deli on the way home from work. I picked up fresh pasta, and a nice jar of imported Italian sauce. Add sweet Italian sausage and sauteed mushrooms. Toss a salad of simple greens with homemade vinaigrette. Dinner’s ready!

Quick work to put dinner on the table. Salut!
Some nights you gotta do what you gotta do. It still looks delicious.
Thanks, Michelle. Nothing wrong with a quick dinner!
