Wine dinners at Pairings Food & Wine in Minnetonka are always a treat. Tonight, we had the pleasure of an all Kermit Lynch wine selection paired with special dishes by Chef Mike. Anissa, the manager at Pairings and Eric from New France Wine Company were our hosts to this special evening. (click on any photo to start slideshow)
Always a treat to start a wine dinner with Champagne.
Premier Cru Champagne with a wonderful bite of prosciutto, arugula, peaches & brie
Chef Mike pulls out all the stops in wine dinners at Pairings!
A lovely Alsace blend with a spicy gaspacho.
Salmon & spring pea risotto with a rich Savenierres (even better with the leftover Champagne!)
A choice of Cru Beaujolais or a special Côtes du Rhône with a deconstructed Tenderloin Niçoise Salad.
Premier Cru Champagne returns to pair with strawberry shortcake at dessert!
Our Kermit Lynch wine lineup
Thanks to Anissa from Pairings, Eric from New France Wine Co., and of course, Kermit Lynch!

How did the Beaujolais and Cotes du Rhone compare? The regions share so much.
The Beaujolais was nice, much lighter in body than the CdR (no surprise). It did seem a bit more “grapey”. Both worked just fine with the deconstructed Niçoise salad, it boiled down to personal preference. I liked the Domaine Gramenon Côtes du Rhône very much.
Yum! Thanks!
I have a couple bottles of the Epire. 2000 vintage–want to come over and pull the cork?
That would be fun, I’d love to taste that wine with some years on it. Now, how to find my way to Philadelphia….
