#WinePW Jumps on the #MerlotMe Bandwagon

October is the Month of Merlot!
#Champagneday is a thing.  #Cabernetday is a thing. There’s even a new #CabFrancDay!  But the unfairly maligned Merlot grape needs more love.  Why not a whole month? Several years ago, Rick Bakas started promoting #MerlotMe month for the entire month of October. Since then, the event has grown and our Wine Pairing Weekend group is jumping in with both feet!

How will you celebrate in October? California? Washington? Bordeaux? #MerlotMe

This year, the kind #MerlotMe participating wineries are sponsoring our Wine Pairing Weekend (#WinePW) group for our October meet-up. So here’s your chance, grab a bottle of Merlot and join us!

We’ll be putting together some killer food and wine pairings featuring Merlot, and chatting about them on Saturday October 10 at 10am CDT. Please join us at #WinePW on Twitter on Saturday, and continue to follow our blogging group through the whole month of October.

My apologies for the excessive use of hashtags, this event will be social media heavy. One final note: in Minnesota, you should follow Nicholas Kolnik, he’s our local Merlot Missionary. Happy #MerlotMe eve!
